VideoIlluminated Integration partnered with the ACTS team to transform a small studio space into a versatile environment for video production and podcasting. The project required distinct lighting solutions for three key areas — a green screen, a news anchor desk, and an interview and podcasting zone. Because the ACTS team was not deeply familiar with studio lighting, Illuminated worked closely with them to identify their needs and develop a system that was simple, flexible, and effective.
The new design featured an ETC EchoTouch control system that allowed staff to easily recall presets for each area, adjust individual fixture intensity and color, and manage work lights with ease. To support power and data distribution, the Illuminated team collaborated with ACTS facilities to route electrical infrastructure strategically throughout the space and installed a custom pipe grid integrated with The Light Source Megabatten. This setup made it simple to position fixtures anywhere in the room, while additional wall boxes provided plug-in options for floor-mounted lights as production needs changed.
During commissioning, Illuminated worked side by side with the client to fine-tune fixture placement and focus, using the camera’s “false color” mode to ensure perfectly even lighting for the green screen—eliminating hot spots and shadows for seamless CGI backgrounds. A small audio distribution system was also integrated to enhance their podcasting setup.
The result is a clean, intuitive studio that empowers the ACTS team to create and broadcast professional-quality content to residents across their many communities nationwide.
