VideoOver the course of multiple project phases, Penn State Harrisburg partnered with Illuminated Integration to enhance the technology infrastructure within the Kulkarni Theatre, expanding its capabilities for a wide range of academic, theatrical, and special events.
In 2022, Illuminated Integration installed a comprehensive NewTek video production system, integrating Panasonic PTZ cameras to significantly elevate the theater’s video capture and production capabilities. This upgrade laid the foundation for high-quality live streaming, recording, and event support.
Building upon the video system, 2023 marked the installation of a robust audiovisual system designed to support the theater’s diverse programming. A carefully engineered speaker system delivers consistent, high-quality sound coverage throughout the audience area, enhancing both spoken-word events and immersive theatrical performances.
At the core of the system is a Q-SYS control platform, providing the technical staff with intuitive, centralized control of the theater’s AV systems. The removal of the legacy Crestron control system streamlined operations and improved reliability, allowing for more efficient day-to-day use.
By implementing the project in stages, Illuminated Integration worked closely with Penn State Harrisburg to optimize budget allocation while ensuring all systems function cohesively within the theater’s unique environment. The result is a flexible, future-ready technology solution that elevates the audience experience and supports the evolving needs of the university.
