RiggingUpper Dauphin Middle School needed a full upgrade of their auditorium’s outdated lighting, rigging, and curtain systems. Their dimmer rack was failing, inspections revealed unsafe rigging, and the existing curtains posed a fire hazard. The school’s goal was simple: to have a modern, safe, and easy-to-operate system suitable for everyday events such as choral and band concerts. Illuminated Integration designed and delivered a turnkey solution that brought the space up to current standards while keeping usability at the forefront.
The upgrade included new white-only front lighting for clear visibility, color-changing top lighting to enhance performances, and an integrated control solution for the LED house lights that previously lacked proper dimming. The new dead-hung rigging system restored safety and reliability, and the fresh IFR velour curtains elevated both compliance and appearance. To make operation effortless, the system was built around simple, intuitive controls, including wireless house-light switches for areas where cable pathways did not exist. Every element of the design centered on creating a straightforward, dependable environment for student performances and school events.
With this renovation, Upper Dauphin now has an auditorium that operates reliably, supports educational programming, and meets all current safety standards. The result is a future-ready performance space that reduces maintenance concerns, enhances visibility and flexibility for events, and provides students and staff with a safe and professional environment for years to come.
