Holy Ghost Preparatory's New Frederico Performing Arts Theater

Frederico Performing Arts Theater

Illuminated Integration designed and installed a complete theatrical audio, video, lighting, rigging, and curtains system for Holy Ghost Preparatory’s new Frederico Performing Arts Theater.
The new Holt Center building on Holy Ghost Prep’s campus was previously a drive-through beverage distributor.  The once beverage warehouse was converted into an athletic and arts facility consisting of batting cages, basketball courts, music practice rooms, and the new Frank Frederico Performing Arts Theater.  Illuminated was selected as the design and integration team for the theatre outfitting.

It was decided early on that the space needed to be designed to meet specific needs for theatrical performances.  A full featured lighting system was designed that integrated dimming functionality with the house lighting and full architectural control via an ETC Paradigm processor.  To make the theatre actually feel like a theatre, a complete static rigging, curtains, and track system was designed to frame the stage and allow for flexible theatrical performances.

ABOUT ILLUMINATED INTEGRATION

For audio, an L-Acoustics stereo PA system was designed and installed.  A digital audio console was installed to allow for programmable scenes for the theatrical performances.  An Allen Heath GLD 80 console was installed with remote input stage boxes.  Shure QLX-D wireless microphones were installed.  Room processing and AVL controls for the space was handled by the QSC QSYS Core 110f and QSYS Touchscreens. For video, a 220″ motorized screen was installed to allow for movie nights, lectures, presentations, etc.  An 8000 lumen laser projector was installed to keep lamp maintenance to a minimum.  Video input jacks were installed throughout the space to ensure that there were multiple access points to connect computers to the AV system.

For theatrical lighting, an ETC ColorSource system was designed to provide front light and backlight evenly across the stage.  The ETC Element console makes control of the system understandable for even entry-level users.  ETC power distribution was used to keep the cabling over the house and stage clean.  To allow for growth and flexibility, an ETC network-based system was installed so that DMX universes can be reassigned quickly and easily to various ports and nodes throughout the space.
