LightingIlluminated Integration worked to replace the existing theatrical lighting and house lighting system at Riverside Church in Fredericksburg, VA. Each house light fixture contained an incandescent 300 watt lamp. The existing dimming and control system was beginning to fail. The incandescent theatrical lighting fixtures required regular maintenance and new color filters often.
Illuminated designed a new house lighting system that brought the current draw down to 70 watts per fixture and reduced the house light quantity by 30%. The result was an additional 10 footcandles of house light when measured at the seating plane. The installed house light fixtures were DMX controlled fixtures. The Altman Chalice 70 was installed as the primary house lighting fixture. Alphabet Lighting NU6RD were installed under the balcony and included DMX drivers.
For control of the system, Illuminated designed an ETC Echo system. By integrating Echo Access, simple app-based control was given to the Church that allows control over both the house lighting and the theatrical lighting. The app also allows for preset control and simple updating of the button stations throughout the space.
